Upcoming Mixer

Our first screening mixer event will feature the work of Leslie Morgan's 1150project. Leslie is a former student of Brian Rodda's and has taken what she learned from him and gone out and produced a very authentic, and creative, multi-platform story: Known as the last great race on the earth, the Iditarod is an 1150-mile sled dog race across the most dangerous and extreme terrain of Alaska. Fifty-eight year old Kathy Frederick is one of the oldest female rookie competitors to ever compete in this treacherous race and Leslie Morgan documented her journey.

About the Creator, Leslie Morgan:

Originally from Syracuse, NY, received her Masters degree from Emerson College.  While in Boston, Leslie worked with acclaimed documentary filmmaker David Sutherland on his film COUNTRY BOYS. She also worked with Lisa Schiller, independent producer of AUTUMN HEART starring Ally Sheedy and Tyne Dally. After graduating from Emerson, Leslie relocated to Los Angeles, where she began working for Line Producer Jimmy Holcomb on the feature film OUR COUNTRY.  From there she began working with Blue Collar Productions, as a Creative Executive in the company’s newly formed film and television department.  Here she worked along side now producing partner Jackson Butler to head this division. While working in development for Blue Collar, Leslie aided in the developed of several projects for the company including DOUBLE WIDE by writer Anne Rapp (COOKIE’S FORTUNE, DR. T AND THE WOMEN) and DISTANCE by Diane Lake (FRIDA). Having worked many years together in both the creative and business arenas, Leslie, along with partner Jackson Butler, opened their own shingle, Anvil Entertainment, in early 2007. Additionally, Leslie also owns Every Problem Solved, a production services consulting company located in Hollywood, CA, providing both film, television and new media companies with the assistance of their outsourcing needs. Currently she is working as a Line Produdcer and Production Manager for Berman Braun’s web series Lighten Up for Vaseline and MSN's new entertainment website for women Glo.com starring Gabby Reece. Finally Leslie currently is a freelance writer for various publications across the US.
